2. Then float your hands and elbows on front of you. It should be around your naval (lower Dantian, in Chinese). Imagine you are holding a ball.

3. Imagine a beam of light going between the centers of both palms (Lao Gong, in Chinese). As you inhale feel the palms slightly move away from one another, and then as you exhale they move back.

Standing Qigong: Zhan Zhuang

Standing Qigong also known as Zhan Zhuang (standing post) is a method of developing internal strength and improving your health.
It’s also called the “three – circle posture,” i.e. the arms, hands and legs are all bent to shape a circular posture. A feeling of vibration in the body is a sign of good posture.

1. Stand in horse stance, shoulders are lowered and arms are relaxed, knees a little bent. The head is suspended as if it’s pulled by a string. Find the center (meaning find the middle between back and forward).

2. Then float your hands and elbows up to the level of your heart – elbows lower than wrists, palms facing your torso, creating a circle with your arms, imagine you are hugging a big tree. Keep the hands and fingers apart.

3. Breathe through the nose, take the time to notice how each breath has a distinct quality of feeling. You may close your eyes.

4. Maintain this position anywhere between two to five minutes. Then work your way to up to 15 minutes at a time
